As the New Year festivities continue, JKUAT comrades residing at Neema Hostel, located at Gate C in Juja, have become victims of a well-coordinated burglary.
During New Year celebrations, unknown individuals broke into the hostel by forcefully accessing doors and windows, making away with household property belonging to the residents. The incident occurred while most students were out celebrating, unaware of the unfolding theft at their residence.
The comrades have not yet returned to their rooms, as they are still engaged in New Year festivities. The extent of the loss remains unclear, but residents fear the burglars might have made away with valuable household items and personal belongings.
The burglars appear to have targeted the hostel knowing it would be largely unoccupied during the celebrations. This has left students worried about their safety and the security of their possessions during such occasions.
The incident highlights the risks of leaving residential spaces unattended during major holidays and celebrations. Students at Neema Hostel and other hostels around Juja are urged to remain vigilant and take extra precautions to protect their belongings.
